Breakiron Jeweler’s 2nd Annual Ladies’ Night

November 14, 2008

Hi everyone,

Thank you for coming and I hope you had a great time at Breakiron Jeweler’s 2nd  Annual Ladies’ Night.  I enjoyed visiting with friends and collegues, and am thrilled all seemed to love an evening of pampering. The social party started right at 5:30 with beautiful weather.  The door prize drawings started at 6:00 and The Winner!continued through out the evening.  Some of the happy winners are shown in the photos. To allow some last minute shoppers to participate, the Grand Prize was drawn on Friday morning. The thrilled winner is proudly showing off her new Champagne Diamond Necklace.

For the ladies that did attend, feel free to continue to add to your “Wish List”. Many women that attended last years Ladies’ Night were excited to fill out a list for this year because they received favorites from their previous list all year long.  For those of you that weren’t able to make the party we’d love to help you start a wish list.  Take your time and browse at your convenience.   At Breakiron’s we love helping create that “Special Moment” with a gift you’ll love.

Don’t forget to remind your favorite guy that the Breakiron’s Men’s Panic Party is coming up on December 8th from 4:00 to 8:00.  This will be an awesome time for guys to check what’s on your “Wish List”,  watch some sports, have beer/pop, snacks, and hot food.  Plenty of parking right in front of the store, and free gift wrapping.

Best of all don’t forget to register for the 42” HD LCD TV that will be given away at Men’s night!!

Summer has been a Whirlwind at Breakiron Jewelers

August 17, 2009

Well, for those of you that follow our events you probably noticed that we did not update our blog at all in July. That is because Linda was on the move so often it was like a grown up version of “Where’s Waldo.”

One of her trips took her to Florida with her daughter, Lydia, to vie for a spot on American Idol. They were among 10,000 individuals auditioning in front of judges. Can you imagine the sights and sounds as they waited during different tryouts?

For those of you that have heard Lydia sing, you know what a fabulous voice she has. The judges listened intently, complimented her talents and advised her to keep up the good work and come back again when she is a bit older.  She plans on doing just that and in the mean time we in Erie get to enjoy her talents so that we will be able to say “I knew her when…”

Linda also went to a major jewelry show in Charlotte, North Carolina looking at all the latest merchandise to offer her dedicated customers this coming season. Some of you even contacted her via facebook while she was there, to be on the lookout for that “special something”. Talk about being a trendsetter! Linda loves keeping the women of Erie looking their best. While she was there she actually rode on the NASCAR track in full regalia. Check out her pix at the end of this post.

New York City was on the travel plans, as well.  Linda, Joe and Lydia drove through the night to do business with one of her major diamond suppliers at the Jewelers of America Show. While Joe and Lydia went exploring, Linda viewed and hand selected many diamond pieces so that her customers can give and receive fantastic gifts this upcoming season.

Puff, puff, puff. After catching her breath, this past weekend, Breakiron Jewelers was selected to be the featured jeweler at the Erie Yacht Club for this year’s Diamond Dig. At this pirate treasure themed event, hopeful guests paid for chances to dig in the sand for loose diamonds and gem stones with all proceeds going to the St Vincent Auxiliary. Many beautiful genuine colored gemstones were given out, but no one individual found the diamonds.  There were five lucky winners of a $200 Breakiron Gift Certificate each.  A few of the winners are Mr. & Mrs. Steve Gary, Barbara McNamara, Dr.  & Mrs. William Diefenbach. Aren’t we nice pirates? AARRR!!!

Well, that brings us up to our latest event. Let’s make summer last with this fun outside party!

On Sunday September 13th from 1-5pm, we welcome you to join us for contemporary Christian music and fellowship, performing will be “Selah” from Our Lady of Peace, and “The Water’s Edge” from Calvary Christian Center.  A picnic style lunch is provided by Smith’s Provisions, Teresa’s Italian style Deli, Curtze, Pine Avenue DQ, and Art’s Bakery (just to name a few of the very generous businesses that have donated).  Bring your family and enjoy the music and activities for this fun filled day while helping to feed Erie’s hungry.  Tickets are $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for 12 & under; all proceeds benefit the Erie City Mission.  Visit www.praisefest09.com for more details and updated information.

The event will be held, rain or shine at the property of Breakiron Jewelers on Pine Avenue, and the property behind the store on the corner of East 41st St. & Lake Pleasant Road.

Purchase tickets or donate on line at www.praisefest09.com

Other dates to keep in mind that month are September 18th & 19th for our annual Colored Gemstone and Remount Extravaganza here at the store, 4026 Pine Ave. On Friday the 18th we will have on hand an unending array of loose and mounted gemstones all day. We will serve wine and cheese from 4PM to 7PM if you like to be wined and dined while you shop. Saturday, September 19th, you can view the stones during our regular store hours 9:30AM until 4PM. Bring in an old piece you’ve been wanting  to revamp , pick out the stone yourself and have us set it for you, or choose from the “Haute Rocks” collection of unique already mounted gemstones in the most avant- garde styles.

And for our Pandora collectors and their families keep the weekend of September 25th-26th open for our fall 2009 Pandora Trunk Show. We will be giving away a FREE Pandora bracelet with the purchase of $100 in Pandora merchandise while supplies last.

There’s lots more coming in October and November so keep checking back to our blog or better yet, if you’re a facebook user,,  go to our website  and become a Fan of Breakiron Jewelers and we’ll send the updates right to your facebook page!

Dress For Success Purse & Pearl Luncheon

June 19, 2009

Purse and Pearl Luncheon

Breakiron Jewelers was invited to be one the chosen vendors at the recent Purse and Pearl Luncheon that was held at the Bayfront Convention Center on May 19, 2009. The Dress for Success Event was sponsored by the Mercy Center for Women.   It was a perfect fit for us since we sell purses AND pearls! We had on display many of our beautiful freshwater pearls that are so perfect for this time of year. Short strands, long strands, bracelets and cuffs were available to try on. These are not “your mother’s pearls” any longer. These modern designs are young and fresh.

We also had with us several of our Debbie Brooks bags. In case you’re not familiar with them here’s the scoop. Debbie Brooks is a designer from New York City. She’s taken an item we need to carry with us every day and turns it into a fun, dynamic blast of self expression. We have a few to view on our web site and a link to Debbie’s site to see the entire collection.  We have more in our store at 4026 Pine Ave.

Breakiron Jewelers donated two pair of cultured pearl earrings that were presented to the keynote speaker, Joi Gordon, Dress for Success Worldwide CEO and to Ebony Carter, our local ambassador of Dress for Success. We know that women love to dress up and feel good about themselves no matter what stage of life we find ourselves. That is why we felt honored to be involved with such a fine organization.

Here they are accepting their gifts.

Monthly Gift Card Winners

Each month we draw a lucky winner from names collected inside our store. The winner receives a $25 Breakiron Gift Card. We’ve also added a new $25 drawing from names that we have email addresses for collected from the in- store sign up and people that sign up at our web site www.breakironjewelers.com  to receive our newsletter.

We are trying to do our part at being “green” by using email to announce different events going on at Breakiron Jeweler’s. We want folks to know there really are lucky winners every month  and we ask permission before posting winners names.

Did you know summer can be hard on your jewelry?

June 5, 2009

Summer has finally arrived in the Erie area. We wish you a wonderful one, along with a few “safety tips” for your precious jewelry pieces.

As we open up our doors after a long winter, there are some important things you should know. Chlorine is found in swimming pools, hot tubs, cleaning agents, cleansers and even some dish soaps.

Chlorine is very harmful to both yellow and white karat gold. Even miniscule amounts can erode the alloys within the gold. This can cause your pieces to become brittle and porous. Prongs are the most vulnerable because of their size. And a brittle prong can break and you could lose a stone.

As a general rule, it is always a good idea to remove all   jewelry before swimming or cleaning. This way you are giving your treasured pieces the care they deserve.

Remember, have fun in the pool, but without your jewelry!

Type to you next month!

Pandora Trunk Show Pix & Video

April 6, 2009

I would like to thank everyone that stopped in for Breakiron Jeweler’s Pandora trunk show.  It all started before our 9:30 opening time.  Friday, cars started lining up at 8:30 a.m., and shortly before 9:30 the waiting Pandora lovers we ushered in to make their selections.  All 50 free bracelets were gone by noon.

Everyone caught wind of the great Pandora bracelet give-a-way and by Saturday at 8:00 a.m. the line started.  Our first adventurer came prepared with a chair, gloves, scarf, & blanket.  Not to let such dedication go unnoticed, Breakiron’s offered her fresh donut holes and the coveted #1 Pandora bracelet ticket!  Thrilled, she waived the ticket & yelled “I’ve never been first for anything!” 35 tickets were handed out to all waiting before Breakiron’s even opened.  Everyone was having a great time discussing the beads they wanted, sharing the meaning of beads they had, and texting friends to hurry up to Breakiron’s to be one of the first 50.  Excitement & laughter filled the air in the parking lot and as soon as the door opened everyone helped each other choose beads.  The first 50 bracelets on Saturday were given out by 10:30 a.m.

It was fun helping everyone get their bracelets started.  Breakirons was thrilled to be able to offer a free bracelet with a $25 minimum purchase, and additional bracelets with each additional $150 Pandora purchase.  I know many were able to start several bracelets & I hope we helped with your upcoming special occasions such as graduation, mother’s day, birthdays, and, of course, “I just have to have another Pandora Bracelet”.  Groups of friends came in to help each other add to their bracelets. It’s a blast to watch each of you design your signature bracelet. Many of you now know just what to get your friend for her birthday, your secrets are safe; with a wink of your eye or head nod we know when it’s time to set aside a surprise bead for the friend you’re shopping with.

Enjoy these photos and our Youtube video from Breakiron Jewelers 2 day Pandora Spring trunk show. Here’s the link to the video, see if you can spot yourself or a friend.       http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rI7-GdsIkrg

Feel free to pass it on and share your memories with your friends and families.

Remember, if you’d like to be invited to one of these exciting Breakiron Jewelers events just contact us at breakiron@breakironjewelers.com or call 814-825-2647, we’d love to hear from you.

I hope you had a great time,
